Zac Olson, LICSW

Sometimes life for all of us feels unbearably heavy. If you’re carrying the weight of complex trauma, struggling with intense emotions that feel impossible to manage, or finding that shame has become an unwelcome companion in your daily life, you’ve come to the right place. With over twenty years of counseling experience, I have a deep skill set and have been specializing in helping others managing symptoms of complex PTSD and Borderline Personality Disorder. I understand that these experiences aren’t just diagnoses—they’re lived realities that affect every aspect of one’s world, from relationships to self-worth to simply getting through the day. I primarily use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) because they work. DBT gives you practical tools for managing overwhelming emotions and building the life you want, while EMDR helps process traumatic memories so they stop hijacking your present moment. Think of it as learning to surf the waves of your emotions rather than being constantly swept away by them.

There’s nothing quite like witnessing someone discover they can feel angry without destruction or sad without despair. I’m passionate about helping people develop emotion regulation skills and reducing those persistent PTSD symptoms that can make even safe spaces and relationships feel dangerous. I believe deeply that shame loses its power when it’s brought into the light, that grief deserves to be honored rather than rushed, and that trauma doesn’t have to write the rest of your story. I bring warmth, authenticity, and occasional gentle humor to our work together. Healing is serious business, but that doesn’t mean we can’t find moments of lightness along the way.

If you’re tired of feeling like you’re too much, too sensitive, or too broken—let me stop you right there. You’re not too anything. You’re someone who has survived difficult experiences and is now ready to move from surviving to thriving. That takes incredible courage, and I would be honored to support you in that journey.
